(11,202 posts)I would be sorely tempted to vote against Platner in the primary out of pure spite. A politician owes voters nothing? Well, bub in the unabomber cabin, voters owe politicians even less.
His "fans" have not been doing him any favors in the past week. I haven't loved how any of this is going down at this late stage. But now the pendulum is swinging in the other direction, where it's like, "Ok, but I don't want to be associated with these people either . . ."
Who's that third guy? Can we still go with that third guy?
That's what's been kind of a little funny about this. Mills is a non-entity in this race. Lacks all charisma and energy. There's a third option standing right there, and absolutely no one has tried to promote him in any meaningful way.
It feels like the two sides are getting addicted to the moderate vs. progressive slapfight as proxy for the party at large. Which I get. But they're all being weird about it now.
