while my polling place is not far away, I always vote early to avoid lines on election day, and I have occasionally used an absentee ballot, but even then I have always dropped it at the county Board of Elections.

The thing is, Delaware is a mostly red county. The northern part might be rural, but it runs down to the Northern suburbs of Columbus, and there are 250,000 residents, most of which live a 30-40 minute drive from the ONLY drop box in the county. I can handle that. I have a car. I work from home. My schedule is flexible. But there are many, many people for which that is not viable, and that would probably include the majority of blue votes in the county. Without the USPS those who can't vote on election day would be screwed.
