I've gotta say, Fleetwood Mac with Christine McVie is like Van Halen with Sammy Hagar or that band known as "Starship" with the members of the former Jefferson Airplane: bastardizations of the original bands.
I like the 1975 Fleetwood Mac album and Rumours. Unfortunately Mac's music went downhill in 1979 (wasn't 1979 a shitty year in America not just in music because of inflation, Three Mile Island, Disco Destruction Night, the end of All in the Family, and stuff like that?) And "Little Lies" sadly went the direction of most '80s soft pop.
Van Halen's music has gone downhill and nowhere since the first Hagar album in '86.
Jefferson Airplane: from '60s psych rock icons straight from the home of the Summer of Love (my fave songs being "Somebody to Love" and a regular Malloy bumper song "White Rabbit"
to mediocre '70s rock band known as Jefferson Starship to such a shitty '80s POP band (remember "Sara", "We Built This City", or "No One's Gonna Stop Us Now"??????) that it had to drop Jefferson from the name!!! (But still I can't believe Grace Slick actually wanted to sing such boring songs in the '80s!)
End of music rant. (I'm a 20-something fan of classic rock writing all this.) But Malloy rules!
