52. A rapist is at fault for the rape he commits

Our culture tacitly allows rape, but the rapist is still at fault.

If your kid takes your car for a spin without your knowledge and then runs over someone, are you at fault? Are you supposed to watch the child 24/7?

You might wish you had been there to stop your child, but in the end, your kid made the decision and your kid is responsible. You will have to pay the damages from a minor child's actions BUT YOUR CHILD IS STILL AT FAULT.

However, I do agree that the parents in Steubenville appear to be clueless, and that any adult who provides alcohol to minors should be charged as a criminal. But the rapists decided on their own to torture a child, and they alone are AT FAULT.
