39. maybe because if you donate $100 to feed the homeless

and I use $10 of it to actually feed the homeless and put the other $90 in my pocket, it sorta means that fewer homeless are gonna get meals, or clean socks, or coats, or blankets, etc.

And if a politician passes a bill claiming "this bill will help feed the homeless" and 10% of it goes to feed the homeless and 90% of it goes into the pockets of much richer people, then that politician is pretty much full of shit.
