(35,092 posts)Her neighborhood was really safe until a mother and her 20 year old twins rented the private home across the street from hers. From that point on, neighbors started noticing missing items in their cars and no longer could leave their doors unlocked. One time my friend witnessed the entire household (including their visitors) get arrested. She knows they have a gun because she saw one of the sons run to the corner and fire off a few rounds when trying to intimidate someone. The sons constantly ring her door and ask if they can mow her lawn or come inside. One time they put a condom in her mail box. One son wears all black and stands outside in the dark looking into the neighbors' windows. Her sister visited one weekend, and was walking around naked after taking a shower. She noticed with horror that one of the boys was outside, looking directly at her through the bay window. She saw them steal her neighbor's power meter. She witnessed them "bike" jack some people as well. She's called the police on them several times and the entire community is in fear and many are making plans to move, as the people who own the rental home refuse to evict them.
In response, she's going to move, but in the meantime she's installing thousands of dollars worth of security upgrades to reinforce the glass in her home. She also bought a gun and will be taking lessons on how to use it and I'm going with her when she goes. I can't remember what type of gun it is, but it's not a shotgun.
