(112 posts)And he is still lighter in the equipment department than them. For starters that is a military surpus "flak" jacket without SAPI plate inputs. It is far lighter than modern body armor, and it won't stop that first round.
I only see one extra magazine of ammunition, compared to the average soldier who patrols with about 600 rounds of ammunition. He also would be carrying something heavy on his back depending on his job and payload. He could be carrying counter-IED equipment, a radio, or the extra tools needed for his mission. On average, a US infantry soldier is carrying an extra 90 lbs, as I ssuspect this guy is, but they can take their extra pounds off.
Also , that guy isn't wearing a stage III armor helmet.
Other than all that, yeah he's a real threat.
