8. Did I hear Mitt claim that his taxes plus charitable contributions were 40% of his income?

I thought I did, and unless I'm missing something that's simply BS. From what I saw, in 2010 he had 21.7 million in income, 3 million in taxes and 3 million in charitable contributions-- that works out to less than 28 percent. Maybe he was mixing up his return with Obama's, which showed a combined tax/charitable percentage of around 39 percent of income.
