Seriously though, Control-Z, all "semi-auto" means is that a bullet is fired every time you pull the trigger. (There is a much more technical explanation but I'm trying to keep this simple. Please don't confuse semi-auto: pow-pow-pow--with full auto, which is akin to a machine gun: BRRRRRP! or RAT-A-TAT-TAT-TAT! Sorry; read too many Sgt. Rock comic books growing up . . .)

The issue that many of us (perhaps you, too?) have come to be concerned about is how large a magazine the weapon holds. The larger the magazine, the more bullets that can be fired before the shooter has to reload. Limiting magazine size is a piece of the gun control puzzle, I believe, that needs to be addressed.
