3. Overheard in my workplace lunchroon, "more deaths from hammers than guns..."

I bite my tongue and go eat in my car, because I can't keep a cool head. But it DID occur to me, that the parents of the victims at Sandy Hook, or the theatre, or the mall, or the.... would have been exceedingly grateful, if we could go back in time and have the perp show up armed only with hammers and clubs...(or steak knives)
I started looking up the statistics and and decided it really doesn't matter. A person who has gone offf into a rage binge isn't likely to get more than one or 2 victims, unless they're armed with "WMD's". And trust me, it's a good thing I'm not packing heat, because of said temper.
In the paper yesterday apparently a couple of 22 year-olds, who have concealed carry permits in Portland, OR decided to parade around the neighborhood close to a school, to assert their 2nd amendment rights. Now if someone else had been armed and feeling protective of little kids in schools had seen them, who knows how the story would have ended. At the very least, they've proven that they AREN'T responsible gun owners and deserve to have the guns taken away.
