They will never understand or believe that wolves are good. They all think that the wolves will kill their cattle and worse, their kids and other people. I even heard one guy say he wanted to hunt the wolves because he was a hunting guide and the wolves were making the deer herds harder to find (not that they we killing too many deer, just returning the deer to their natural habits and making him work harder). I have had more arguments than I can remember with those kinds of people and it just never ends. What did my brethren ever do to them? We did nothing, and yet we are always the big bad wolf that eats grandma. It is so infused in human culture. 'Feed them to the wolves', 'wolf is sheep's clothes', 'DOn't wolf down your food' and on and on. I have embarrassed family members as I correct or ask people that we are talking with why they keep saying those bad things about wolves. I usually get a quick 'sorry, I never thought about it before' but there are times that the person just looks at me funny and starts in on wolves are evil and have been killing humans since before recorded time.
Sorry, I'm rambling now.
I pray that those killed will meet up with their ancestors across the BriFrost, where they can join the Wild Hunt. May Odin help guide them on their way. I also ask that Odin's wolves, Geri and Freki, haunt the dreams of those humans that hunt the wolves of Midgard.
