but .... there will also be people who hear the side they disagree with. (ie here people saying he claimed it - and on the right people saying he did not make it clear that Iraq was beneficial AND that he did not give all the credit to Bush who set everything (Iraq and getting OBL) into motion.

The good thing is that it is innocuous enough that people in the middle will hear it as intended.
