Cyclists have been known to kill pedestrians, but it's very rare. Motorized vehicles manage to kill people with predictable regularity. Drivers routinely disregard all sorts of traffic laws like speeding, following too closely, and changing lanes without signaling which are all things that manage to kill quite a few people. Nobody seems to mind too much, but dog forbid a cyclist runs a stop sign in a residential neighborhood with not another soul around.
