(37,573 posts)Obama kept 85% of the Bush tax cuts, including $1.3 trillion for the richest 5%.
Some here are happy, or making excuses for him. The economy, the adult, not a dictator, blah, blah, blah.
He could have kept 100% of the Bush tax cuts (in fact he did in 2010) and some would STILL be happy, or make excuses. The economy, the adult, the election, the need to compromise, blah, blah, blah.
And to think we used to marvel at how some of those Bush supporters would just support him NO MATTER WHAT he did.
Politics is clearly more like sports than it is like debate or math. Facts, logic and reason have nothing to do with it. Either you are a FAN of the San Fransisco Democraters or you are a fan of the Atlanta Dirty GOPers.
If one of those teams commits a blatant pass interference at the end of the game and it does not get called by the refs, very few of the fans of the winning team are gonna say "my team did not play fair, they should not have won". No, most of them will be cheering MY TEAM is going to the SUPERBOWL!!!!!
The strange part to me, is how we cheer for OUR team when our team scores for the other side. Tax cuts for the rich are a victory for the Republicans, but when Obama proposes them and signs them, the fans all cheer.
Of course, it does help that Obama lies and calls them tax increases on the rich.
Wait for it though, I will be attacked by a loyal fan for daring to say that the Emperor is not telling the truth.
