(4,835 posts)I kind of disagree with you though. As far as Facebook; I think if there aren't people to stand up against the bullies, your other friends think its ok to feel that way.
I can see avoiding people that you come into contact with in person, but if they start spouting off; they need to be confronted. It isn't the same as seeking out confrontation, but when they're in your face; you have to discourage them from spreading hate.
I haven't been on Facebook for a couple of days because of the 'gun-nut hate', but they're gonna lose that anyway. You can't fight every battle, and it's a good idea to take a break, but if you aren't challenging them; bystanders might think you agree.
That's why I think it's better to keep fighting them. Even though you will never change their mind; you might demonstrate to someone else that they are wrong and hateful and even dangerous.
