30. A big change has happened since I was young and went to college....

Somewhere the shift happened from "being well educated, knowing culture and being able to think critically" to going to college merely for job training. It's the loss of critical thinking as a desirable quality in a person, that I believe is at fault for the increase in belief systems, where opinions are not formed from any logical analysis or studies of both sides of an issue, but from an emotional response resulting in an almost religious belief.

This emotional response is what Rush Limbaugh et al have exploited so well. And that has increased their number and their rabidness, IMO.

I agree with your points.
