The law enforcement people that I have regular contact with are generally strongly in favor of private (legal) firearm ownership.

NH and Vermont have some of the most liberal firearms regulations in the country. They also have some of the lowest crime rates. Both states have average population densities and higher than average education attainment. Both states have very low gun violence.

I live in MA. We have some of the highest education attainment rates, very high population density, strict firearms regulations, and the rate of gun crime is higher than both NH and Vt.
