The GA House of Rep refused to seat black state representative Julian Bond despite his election the previous Nov.
Their stated objection was his endorsement of a SNCC statement accusing the US of violating inter law in Vietnam.
In Dec 1966, the US Supreme Court ruled Bond’s exclusion unconstitutional, Bond finally sworn in the following month. http://bit.ly/10qjSyg
