(24,948 posts)The problem is that I think that people SHOULD be *afraid* of guns and and even anybody whom owns one should "respect" them enough to recognize the need to be responsible with them as they have the power to snuff out life. In some sense, you could say that when you are carrying around a gun (or any weapon for that matter) you are literally carrying around with you the power of life and death. I don't think that people should be "desensitized" to seeing people anywhere and everywhere toting around guns, assault rifles, etc. I don't view everybody whom owns guns as potential criminals but seeing people openly carry weapons around anywhere and everywhere will make it harder to know when and where there might be an actual potential dangerous person. Just something to think about.............
