Because that worked so well.

I don't think this guy needs an ar15 and what he is doing is stupid. But I don't support making every place a gun free zone, because the moment you do, then the nut jobs know where to go to kill the most people possible before they meet any resistance at all.

I think that you should be able to bring a reasonable self defense weapon with you most places, but such a display as this is not reasonable and only hurts the ideals of how a responsible gun owner should exorcize their right to bear arms.

Yes, I am a new poster, but I have lurked for many years, and I wish to join the discussion here on DU. Most of my views are progressive, except when it comes to fire arms. I don't ascribe to NRA talking points, but I don't support taking fire arms away from law abiding citizens either. The crooks will get them legal or not. Law abiding citizens should be able to get them as well, provided they pass a background check. I'm all for a "well regulated militia" in that I think that at the very least, all states should be "shall issue CCW" provided the license holder passes a background check, and possibly a psyc evaluation.
