(19,110 posts)All that discrimination, selfishness and unjust behavior is just part of who we are.
History has shown that over and over.
Hope for the world, now that might be a different thing.
We are irreversibly changing the world and it may destroy the progression of civilization.
This also has happened before too in Egypt, Greece, Rome and I'm sure in many other societies.
Our current culture and society may be forced to change before long into something very foreign to our current way of life. Within our own lives, maybe, maybe not. But humanity keeps on going. Suffering may increase but that's nothing new.
Our mistake is thinking that we have moved beyond all the trials and tribulations of history. We haven't. We are simply moving through a new phase of them and will be stuck repeating the past whether we like it or not.
The best we can do is to stay flexible and enjoy what we've got now.
