(12,792 posts)Oswald was setup to be a scapegoat. Whether he was there to shoot at JFK with the intent to kill or not, he got caught and the FBI investigation that ensued focused on him as a prime suspect and a lone gunman. After he announced to the media that he was a "patsy," he was subsequently shot and killed himself. To many people, this is a compelling reason to believe that he was being silenced so as not to reveal the nature of any conspiracy. You can cite all of the circumstantial facts involving Jack Ruby that you want, there are just as many reports that raise even more questions.
One thing that consistently gets ignored in the research that has been done in the past has been the overlap between the mafia, covert anti-Castro operations (particularly in New Orleans), CIA counter-intelligence, and Oswald's alleged involvement with either domestic or foreign intelligence.
