I listened to Saturday Night Fever and Grease. Not all the lyrics were appropriate for 8-year-olds but I loved the songs anyway.

My youngest (3) knows all the lyrics to "Gangham Style" and "Call Me Maybe." (Edited to clairfy that she doesn't speak Korean, but does sing "Hey, Sexy Ladies" with much gusto.)

I mean kids listen to kids' music too, but it's hard to avoid what's on the radio. Did your kids really not listen to any pop music at 8? Not even the younger ones, when the older ones were listening to it all the time?
