(22,541 posts)One thing I know. This man knows how to run a campaign. And that debate performance? It wasn't planned like that. No. But we don't know the whole story there, either. It sure wasn't because he was overconfident and skipped prep. That is out of character. I think there was some presidenting going on that had to do with Libya and what he found out was really, really devastating. Being the president takes precedence over running for president.
The other thing I know is that this man has had the 8-year plan mapped out from the beginning. OFA changing from one election to the next, never disbanding after the first election; rather, growing and evolving and becoming more involved in the communities. Then the second election comes around and it's already in place, and it hit the ground running. I was never so proud as I was when I got the first call, so incredibly early, and was asked to meet with the head of OFA in my state for a cup of coffee. In my neighborhood!
And now, it's Organizing For Action. We will get our agenda through. Barack Obama had this planned out before he was even elected. It comes from his days as a community organizer. He built on that, made it national, and now he's giving it back to us. This is his gift. He is giving us the means to achieve our goals. The structure, everything. It's wonderful. All we have to do is take it.
