there was about a 15 to 1 ratio of liberals to conservatives who posted responses on that site. Under two years later it became 2 to 1. It happened so fast I thought that either 1)it was a another coordinated attack by rightwingers to invade a liberal-leaning site or 2)Republicans discovered the internet overnight. The ratio is arguably even closer today. Maybe Huffington was a victim of its own success. It got HUGE during Obama's 2008 victory and became the hip place to be. The more attention it got the more likely it was going to become a place of intrigue for "others." Red State doesn't have to worry about something like that because hardly anyone knows about that piece of garbage.

I don't have a Facebook account but I'm guessing the fact that most sites these days provide an easy road for Facebook users to sign up to websites and message boards. So I'm going to also guess that most of the rightwing dunces that you find on HP these days joined through Facebook, (otherwise they may have been too lazy to go through signing up in the first place).
