I didn't see any of our neighborhood fox critters tonight while out with the dog. We see them almost every night right around midnight, so it worries me if we don't run into any of them. Tomorrow is garbage day though, and with most folks putting out their trash for pick up the night before, I suspect they were busy hunting their dinners in peoples' trash. They're interested in my dog while he's just as interested in them. I think they can't quite figure out what species each other is so aren't sure whether to run away/give chase or contemplate each other as a love interest. So instead they sit down and do a lot of curious mutual staring. I've gotten to the point that I can identify individuals now and suspect that it won't be long till I start giving names to them. They're beautiful and interesting cat-dog creatures.
