(20,043 posts)I often donate to food banks and give my time in other ways to help feed the hungry. And my dogs get 'treat dinners' on Thanksgiving and Christmas. And occasionally other times. Whenever I make ham they get a small piece, I don't make ham often so they don't get it often. You can do both.
I was in BJ's parking lot just yesterday when a man with his son approached me told me they were displaced and wouldn't have a place to stay until Monday. He was asking for help for food and money for a place to stay.
I went into BJ's took out enough money so that he could get a place at motel I knew right up the road and bought some food, I gave him and his child a ride there and got them checked in. It's bitter cold here and there was no way I was leaving them in that parking lot.
My dogs each got chicken in their dinner last night. I got some on sale and thought it would be a nice treat. They're getting older and one of them has had cancer and has another tumor. So yes, I spoil them from time to time, but that didn't stop me from helping someone in need.
I think you're just being an _____fill in the blank.
