(53,661 posts)And from a Eurocentric perspective. In the Americas and every other continent, wars have been waged over territory for much longer than that, and during that period. On the scale they were waged, they may have seemed less violent, but as the peoples of those regions know, there has been genocide going on forever. In a certain way of thinking, the only wars are mechanized ones - that's not the case. There is also what is called the war of the day, economic and religious war on others waged daily without guns or bombs. They determine who will have power, land and resources. IOW, politics.
