my mother was born in Italy and she finally got her US citizenship as soon as she could. My older brother was born to my mother before she received her citizenship in her bedroom at home in Italy. My dad was a soldier. When my brother became of age he could choose what nationality he wanted. My dad didn't give him a choice. He picked american (of course he wanted it to be that). My brother was born in a private home not on a military base.
