This was in response to the NRA’s Enemies List (another thread). So I e-mailed:

Really! You can’t think of (thread subject line here)?! They represent NAZIs, assigning their cases to Black and Jewish lawyers. Note to you: Extending wingnuttiness to its natural conclusion ends in NAZIism.

Buckley once said (before he died) that putting a Bible in a whore house didn't make it a library. he was referring to the articles in the mag. and how they didn't make it NOT a girlie magazine. the ACLU defending Nazis is the same thing. There are lots of people and organizations who could be taken to task by or defended by the ACLU but they don't do it. And no, Naziism is not the end result of conservatism; it is the first cousin to communism.

To which I replied: For me to have the last, winning, word: The spectrum goes both ways, the Left ending in Communism and the Wingnut in Nazism (and worse). You might argue that the spectrum is circular with the ends meeting out there, but ditch the wingnut meme of calling Nazisim a Left thing. Get busy, now, quit dawdling. You’ve got show prep to do. Oh, I forgot, it doesn’t take much to put on a carnival of limited, soul-pinched, parochial ignorance.

*******END of e-mail exchange (so far). Now, addressing the thread, give me other wingnut clients the ACLU has had, since I know there are plenty, have been stomach turned each time I hear of them. Or, alternatively, school me on how I hurt my argument by my ignorance of ideologies and/or by personally attacking him.
