2. The article says HuffPost checked it out with the pound

and it passed their sniff test.

The article talked about checking the dog for evidence of dogfighting, since the owner was clearly that level of utter moron.

My guess is that the dog humped another male and turned the moron on and he panicked. If he ever gets another dog, he's going to be in for another ugly surprise. Even female dogs hump each other from time to time and male dogs have a habit of trying to hump their owner's leg.
