In reply to the discussion: Wow. That "God Made a Farmer" ad was incredible. [View all]exboyfil
(18,374 posts)52. Missed the ad
I don't have a problem with Paul Harvey's recitation of what farmers do though (even though I don't think alot of Paul Harvey one way or the other). Using God to sell stuff - now I do have a problem with that. If the Superbowl ad was the same as the one that appeared on the Internet (with the Dodge truck at the end), it was not as offensive as the one about the stain (even though I think those folks who see holy stains are whack jobs as well).
My all time offensive commerical is using the Hallelujah chorus to sell stuff (I can't remember the product).

I agree. Not everything has to be analyzed, sometimes it's nice to just enjoy.

Well, most of the farmers I know hate Dodge, but I imagine they appreciated the nod nonetheless...

Well, when a self-congratulatory thread about not watching the Super Bowl draws 400+ replies...

I'm sure somebody will chime in to tell us why it is offensive and part of a RW conspiracy
