5. That began long ago in districts of all political colors -

- my mother retired in the early 1990's from the post office after 30 years as postmaster in a small rural community. Her retirement killed the post office in the region. They went to mail boxes with the closest post office 3 miles away. Within the last year, my community lost one of three post offices.

Closing small post offices and reducing services has been going on for 20+ years.
