4. None of what happened last night is truly "official"

It has evolved into a media circus...one of custom, not necessity.

All the constitution requires is an "occasional report to congress" about how things are going.

Media created what we have now and has selfishly elevated it into an "event".

A party worth its salt would rein in its members and if a "rebuttal" is required, it should come from ONE person (perhaps an elder statesman..if there are any left)..

Media has a vested interest in creating "excitement/controversy/drama", so anyone with a voice and an ego is offered a platform.
