REASON FOR ALERT:
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See <a href="http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=aboutus#communitystandards" target="_blank">Community Standards</a>.)
ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
"pussies" is sexist language that should not be allowed at DU. Please hide; we may have debates about certain words here but I think this one should be pretty clear cut.
JURY RESULTS
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Feb 12, 2013, 04:07 PM, and the Jury voted 5-1 to HIDE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: Broad brushing any religious organization is also unacceptable.
Also, agree with the alerter. 'Pussies' is just a dumbass thing to call anything but a cat.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: The entire post is peppered with bigotry.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: This one was tough. I resorted to checking the Community standards before I opted to vote to Leave It Alone. "Should not be allowed," is different than "Shall not be allowed." If the admins wish to ban sexist language, I hope they will update the community standards to remove any doubt.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: I'm reluctant to hide (because truth is a defense, to some extent) but the language does need some cleanup. Poster is relatively new and may be unaware of DU's norms.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
So there you have my position on the matter.
