How Did George W. Bush TRICK US Into A Full-Blown WAR?

64. Many of us were not tricked.

I'll always be proud that I joined thousands of other Americans in DC to demonstrate against the war before it began. Bush started beating his war drum when he had that megaphone in New York on the rubble after 9/11. He wanted to whip the country up for war. He lied, lied and lied. Iraq's WMD, which didn't exist, had nothing to do with 9/11. He wanted to be a "war president." He thought it would be over quickly and easily and the troops would be hailed as saviors by the people of Iraq. He thought he would benefit politically. He was wrong. I am very angry to this day that he has not been held accountable for all the death, maiming, destruction and sorrow he caused. In a later anti-war demonstration I attended, Jane Fonda used that very word in her excellent speech - "hubris." Very good title for the program.
