(15,359 posts)and some others thought. I like to post that as a reminder every once in awhile. Matthews gushes over how wonderful his President is.

I said nyet so fast. Give it five years or so and we'll see if this can be called a success at all. I was way off. Five years wasn't near long enough and I'm not sure you can make that call even yet. Of course if you're one of the ones the war was fought for, you can declare it an overwhelming success! I think they made at least a few million off of every one of our guys they murdered over there.
Then there was a Republican acquaintance at our local Eagles Lodge. I'm not sure he cared about any of the lies at all. He was just glad we were doing it to go after the oil. He said, "I'm a Roman. I'm talking empire. I say we just take it!" Of course by "we" he didn't really mean we. He didn't join up, though he was young enough. As far as the oil doing us any good, we see how much that helped us.
