many of us! Hell, Palin (probably not a good example but far from the only one so stupid) was a potential VP and she thought Saddam was responsible for 9/11.

I think many of the smarter ones got a clue but as I said, if they voted against continued support, it was the troops who would be hurt the most.

I think Cheney, et al, were master manipulators, and ultimately we can ALL be manipulated. Some people in Congress were, some weren't. We weren't thinking straight then. I'm not excusing them, and I agree they need to be held to a higher standard because we ENTRUST ourselves to them, but they were probably frightened, too.

I don't think they ALL were complicit, but some certainly were. I even wonder how much the inner circle knew.

They frighten me.
