(25,592 posts)4. Elizabeth Warren is a Senator, a member of Congress.
She is not on Obama's team. Obama is Administrative and Elizabeth is legislative.
Obama did not get her that job. Her constituents elected her. She is on the Banking Committee because of her expertise in that field.
Obama failed at getting her appointed to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau job.
Yet Obama hesitated. For nearly a year, he has played coy and held off naming her to the job. We presumed that was because Republicans vowed to block her nomination unless the law is altered to weaken the CFPB and appease angry bankers. But that explanation doesnt add up. Obama could always put her in the office through a recess appointment that gets around Senate confirmation. Yet he didnt do so. Whats up with that?
