part of town, near an entertainment district. That's where I met him well over 10 years ago now. He smoked heavily, no other types of self-abuse. Died suddenly of a heart attack. He was only 49.

I wish I could tell you who Forest was. He truly was one of a kind, so you'd have to have known him to get it. Really not average, but not in a flashy all-about-me way, he was ALL about peace and human rights, but not a blissed out saint. Not much of a sinner either, moderate, but very direct in expression, didn't talk a whole lot, what you saw is what everyone got, didn't seek leadership, but he always knew why he knew what he knew, a tad grumpy or curmudgeonly, but not a whiner, a darkly bemused gentle sense of humor, kind of conspiracy minded, but always generous with all of us, did a lot of work that others didn't want to do, strong in his positions on the issues, he'd bump heads with you if you wanted to, but he never held a grudge about differences, Senator Sanders was his leader.

I'm getting old, I've known thousands of persons, Forest was a real character in the low-key sort of way. All of us are happy and honored to have known him.
