Are we supposed to believe that the Earth somehow travels around the sun at just the right speed without either falling in or spiraling away? Puh-leeze. The only way for that to even be possible is if the orbit were elliptical instead of circular. And we all know God does not make imperfect, elliptical shapes for His heavens.
