65. After they put in a new walk in my empty neighboring house's yard,

the concrete guys left. I wasn't outside. Later that evening, I went outside and noticed that another neighbor's 4-year-old boy had walked the length of the new walkway just before the concrete set. A neat row of very shallow tennis shoe tracks were left, and it was too late for me to get a trowel out and fix it. The concrete had set up fully.

Those tracks are still there. The person who bought the house just shrugged and thought they were cute. I think so too, and would have left them if it had been my walk, too.

Kids and wet concrete have a strange attraction for each other, somehow.
