I really can't comprehend how anyone could be so ignorant as to not see the disconnect here.
A: Don't see a memo and 4 people get killed in a complex that Congress cut security funding for. She didn't see the memo because the people who screen and select the most important out of thousands of memos didn't find it much different from all of the OTHER memos on our facilities being under-protected and vulnerable to attack.
B: See and ignore a memo and 3,000 people get killed, 4,000 troops get killed in a war started under false pretenses, and countless thousands of innocent civilians die in the process. He saw the memo because Rice put it right under his nose. And her testimony that nobody could have anticipated a plane being used as a weapon is silly. Hadn't she heard about a certain event at Pearl Harbor? How about the animated Superman episodes of the same era, "The Japateurs" and "The Bullet Car"? Both involved destroying buildings with planes.
So, which is worse? It's sad when anyone gets killed, but the same people who think choice (A) is worse are the ones against doing anything to reduce gun slaughters in our own country. It's clear the GOP is taking the ignorant route for political reasons, but how is it possible for them to get away with it because their constituents are morons who can't see the disconnect? I know, the obvious answer is "FOX, Rush, and Beck", but it has to be more than that. It just has to be.
