5. Good point. I vaguely remember a tipping point...

when Bush the First had him share a pedestal and he started hanging with GOP bigwigs, like he was a part of the action. He changed from a comic to a pundit about then, and gained a huge audience although he was no longer funny and still wrong about everything.

Now he has to compete not only with Beck, but with asshole congresscritters who announce that women have a way cure themselves of pregnancy. And governors who claim our problem is that the rich have too little money while the poor have too much-- a problem they are working mightily to solve.

The good news is that the lowered ratings of Limpy, Hannity, and others show the country is waking up after its dalliance with conservative bullshit, but the bad news is that it took so long.
