(20,906 posts)83. I hate to say it, but I definitely agree.
I've watched every year for over thirty years, and this definitely ranks as one of the worst, what a disappointment.
I realize the Academy is run by old, stodgy white guys, but they have GOT to start changing some things and spicing up others, or they will lose the next generation, period. And they've been told this for years and have not done much about it. They still insist on stupid, clunky dance numbers and including a ton of boring awards, clustering them all together so that the only awards people really care about come at the very beginning and at the very end.
I was even disappointed in the In Memoriam section, something I never have a problem with. They left out a LOT of really good people this year, which is inexcusable.
