They have mats at the back to prevent bullet fragments from bouncing out of the traps. A tracer round (like a flare) would set those alight and the ranges have a lot of moving air to ensure that lead doesn't build up and get breathed in. So if a fire got going, it would have plenty of air. The good thing is that the trap end of the range is the farthest from people, so everyone has a safe path out in the event of a fire.

Also - "* Word not on any ban list that I know of. Not yet anyway." Good one!
