In reply to the discussion: Official I hate Seth McFarlane thread [View all]MADem
(135,425 posts)114. I watched with a ninety year old woman who loved every "bit"
and thinks McFarlane is the greatest thing since sliced bread. She loved every number, and roared at the first one.
"He can do it all! Best Oscar in YEARS, I tell you...YEARS!!!"
The sixty-ish plus crew in the room and the whippersnappers in their fifties didn't have any trouble with him, either.
I think it's just a "sense of humor" thing. Either you get where he is coming from, or you don't. I don't think anyone can be compelled to dislike him if they like him, and if people don't like him, they probably just never will.
The French say Jerry Lewis is a genius. I think he's less amusing than the Stooges, who are still funny in small doses.

He was terrible. At the end all he was doing was the segue to the commercial break. Sad...
