This is exactly what Obama wanted. He wanted to ruin his presidency through cuts that killed the economic growth he worked his whole first term working toward. Boy, you're really smart. I wish more people were as smart as you. I mean, it's clear as day, right? It's not like Obama has anything to lose here, right? Except his legacy ... and any second term agenda that will ultimately be at risk now because of a bad economic recession that could be down the pike. But that's a small price to pay just to kick-start austerity, right? HE MUST BE IN ON IT!

This is the dumbest thing I've read on DU. Why would Obama stake his whole presidency on cuts that would ultimately ruin it? Am I to believe he's that careless or dumb? I know some DUers like to believe Obama is as stupid as some of the posters here ... but that just isn't the case.
