We liberals have a seriously good thing going on... freedom, adventurous spirits, inquisitiveness, intellectual and contemplative pursuits, workable and equitable economic ideas, ecologically sound ideas for businesses and living in harmony with our environment, progress, peace, justice, fairness, compassion, a deep respect for truth over our own self-interest, and so on and so on. And yet we are overrun by greedy, selfish, narcissistic, authoritarian assholes almost everywhere we go. We had a big break in the 20th century but we are watching it being torn asunder before our very eyes. And we had only just started.

I have no idea what it would take to rid this world of the right wing ideological bullshit that is killing us. You can't force someone to care, only to behave. And that's sort of the antithesis of the freedom we all cherish. And exactly what these conservative freaks are so willing to do.
