7. This, again, is why some of us have been saying since Newtown...

That it is foolish in the extreme to continue harping on gun control at this time. Two reasons:

1. It is pointless in terms of accomplishing the goal of gun control. To be blunt, you will NOT get any kind of meaningful gun control legislation. It cannot pass the house, it cannot pass the senate, Obama would not sign it if it did, and it would be constitutionally questionable if all of that magically took place.

2. If even a mere 10% of NRA members were potentially dangerous -- and remember that the NRA makes up the most passionate segment of the gun owning public, you are still talking about somewhere close to 500,000 potential armed and very dangerous "Patriots." Further, even talking about it feeds into their persecution fantasies.
